Everyone welcome. It's Susan Coffin here today with Attitude Magazine's weekly ADHD

experts broadcast. Today's topic is a really important when it's bullying which is I don't need to tell those of you who are

listening in a very serious issue for many children with attentional or

other learning differences. Kids with ADHD and LDs are just prime targets for school bullies in the classroom at lunch, recess

is a big time for bullying.

Anything from receiving accommodations to weak social skills are just being considered different can attract the bullies.

Kids who are bullied may come to dread going to school, they may suffer low self-esteem

and academic performance. It's a really serious issue.

So today I'm especially pleased to welcome expert Dr.

Michelle Borba to tell us about why children with ADHD often fall

victim to bullies and how to detect signs that your child may be the victim of

bullying. And she'll also talk to us about strategies that you and your child can use to end bullying.

And then finally, what if your own child is a bully how can you cope with that?

Well I'm introduced Dr Michelle Borba she is we are so honored to have her today

she is an internationally recognized educational psychologist and an expert in parenting

bullying and character development. She's also a former special education teacher

herself and the mom of three. She is the author of 22 books including some really wonderful ones.

Her latest book which was just released in June is called Unselfy.
