Hey everyone, welcome to another edition of Mormon Stories podcast. This is John. It is January 12th

0:07.3

and we are doing something kind of very different today this afternoon. Something we have never really

0:15.7

done before. This is Cara, Brill and I. Hey Cara. Oh, hey John. Thanks for being here. Thanks for

0:22.2

having me. Yeah. I'm sitting in this chair. You're sitting in the interview each air again. Yeah.

0:27.2

How long has it been? February 25th is on our recorded my interview. So almost 11 months, right?

0:34.4

Yeah. Yeah. And we're doing something different. So usually Cara's in the producer seat. I'm in

0:41.2

the host seat and we're interviewing somebody. But today we're taking a break from kind of the

0:47.9

normal way that we do things. And we're doing an episode in response to a lot of the hate and the

0:57.3

criticism and the smears and all the attacks that we've been receiving, you know, over the past few

Mormon podcasting space. And I think we both felt it was really important to begin by talking about

1:24.7

our intentions, right? Because we're not here to say, well, as us, we're not here to, you know,

1:30.7

on the one hand, choose to be in the public eye and then to like, moan and complain about being

1:35.5

in the public eye, you know, we're not here to be narcissistic and to like draw the attention back

1:42.5

to us. But on the other hand, we believe in transparency. We've been attacked and smeared quite a

1:50.4

bit lately. And that's just part of the job. And we, we like the idea for those who care about us,

1:57.0

who care about Mormon stories, who care about the open stories foundation, or who just care about

2:01.5

the space of trying to make a difference in the Mormon world, giving them some transparency and

2:07.9

some visibility into what we're doing, not just so they can understand what we're going through.

2:12.4

But also so that other people who want to get in the space can kind of know what it's about.

2:17.6

And maybe learn from some of the things that we've been experiencing. Plus, it's a tiny bit
