0:35.3	that I love. But today we're going to talk about when you're struggling with purpose, when you're
0:40.8	struggling maybe in this season of life to feel like your life really has purpose and meaning.
0:47.7	And I'm going to start by telling you a story.
0:49.7	We talked about this a little bit last week on the podcast because I think a lot of times we feel like,
0:56.3	oh, if I live this American dream and if I, you know, marry the right person and go to the
1:02.1	right college and get the right job and have the babies and do all the things that we think
1:06.1	we're supposed to do, that we will feel purposeful, that we will feel like, okay, I've arrived, I'm happy,
1:13.2	my life has meaning. And we talked about last week how that's kind of delegating something
1:19.0	to your circumstances that they can never create for you. The perfect house, I mean,
1:25.5	I live in a gorgeous place here on the lake. The perfect house, the perfect family, the perfect house, I mean, I live in a gorgeous place here on the lake.
1:33.9	The perfect house, the perfect family, the perfect job are never going to give you that sense of meaning and purpose. The other thing is that I remember when I quit my job as a family
1:42.3	doctor, so a lot of you know that I used to practice medicine.
1:45.7	I was kind of like, Izzy on Grey's Anatomy. I'm sure you can imagine this if you've been following me for
1:51.4	very long. I did crazy things when I was practicing medicine like drive my patients home and give them
2:00.2	money. I had two patients in particular that would just come to my front desk and say,
2:06.2	can you ask Dr. Edie if she can give me some money?
