Hi everybody, this is Joe Lample, the Joe Behind Joe Gardner, and welcome to the Joe

Gardner Show.

We talk a lot about seeds in these podcasts, especially lately and in upcoming episodes.

And I know many of you have, or are starting seeds like crazy right now, seed companies

are pushed to their limits with unprecedented demand, and that's a good thing, and more

of you are growing food for the first time, or you're expanding your gardens to make room

for more.

And you might be, like a lot of gardeners these days, who are eager to experiment with different

varieties of their favorite crops, well the odds are pretty good that many of those

unique varieties that you've been growing, or are excited to try this year, are available

to you thanks in large part to this week's guest, Diane Ott-Waley.

She's the co-founder of the Seed Savers Exchange in Decora, Iowa, and her passion has helped

to preserve thousands of varieties that might have otherwise been lost to extinction.

I've twice had the opportunity and pleasure to visit Diane at Heritage Farms.

That's where seed savers exchange, bases their main operations, and it's where they

grow thousands of seed varieties to save and preserve for future generations, and to

sell along the way to members of the exchange, and to the general public too, Seed Savers
