Of all the kinds of Christian hymns that there are out there, if you open a typical hymn,

you'll see the categories of hymns and that's how they're usually organized.

Theological categories or what the topic of that hymn is and you can find all different kinds of

topics in Christian hymnity but of all those topics, all those categories, this category,

this topic is again and again and again one of my favorites and I don't know why evening hymns.

Christians seeing hymns in the morning, they sing in the middle of the day and they sing at the

close of day but these evening hymns that we're going to be studying here in a five-part series on

issues et cetera, they are among my favorite hymns. What makes a Christian hymn evening hymn?

Why are these so near, so dear to the hearts of Christians throughout history?
