All right I'm here with Father Deacon Daniel Dozier. He is a Eastern Catholic

Deacon very well known on the internet speaking on a lot of conferences and we

want to talk today about Eastern Catholicism. run through a lot of questions.

A lot of people have confusions about the structure of it in relationship to the

Roman Church, to the papacy, and then also some of the distinctions like

Pido Communion, Communion for Infants,

Pido Crissmation, other things like that.

So Father Deacon, Daniel, welcome.

So let's just jump into some of this

Eastern Catholic theology and devotion. We've corresponded for I think a number of years

primarily through Facebook and you know I've thrown you

questions and you've thrown me questions and I think especially since we're in

the octave of the assumption of our lady, the dormition in the east.

Maybe you could say some words about the differences in

Mariology, but in particular the way that the Eastern tradition

understands this mystery of the

Dormition the falling asleep of our lady.

Yeah so so actually what's interesting about the you know I'm I'm Eastern Catholic in the sense that I'm part of one of many

churches within the East, but I formally belong to the Byzantine Catholic Church, which is one of some 22 suiurists or self-governing churches.

So my references here will be primarily to those churches that are within the Byzantine
