Hi everyone and welcome to the Squiggly Careers podcast. I'm Sarah and I'm here virtually as ever nowadays with my co-host Helen.

Hello everyone. And today we're going to be talking about emotional intelligence. And it feels like to us, leaders, teams and organisations that are finding their way through everything at the moment,

0:22.4

or the change, the ambiguity, the uncertainty that we're all feeling, are those that are

0:27.7

emotionally really switched on and being really smart and thoughtful. So we thought it would be

0:32.6

good to take this idea of emotion intelligence, which I'd guess lots of you have heard about

0:36.7

or kind of have

0:37.7

some sense of what it might mean and really try and think about what does this look and feel like

0:42.6

in reality? What are the actions you can take to become more emotionally intelligent and what does

1:31.7

Four, you'll be kind to yourself and not judge how you're coping based on how you see

1:35.2

others coping.

1:36.8

And then five, you'll be kind to others and not judge how they're coping based on how

1:40.3

you're coping.

1:41.2

So they could have just said, I think, I'm reverse.

1:43.8

And then number

1:44.2

six, your team's success will not be measured the same way it was when things were normal. And I just

1:49.4

think, I was imagining what it must have felt like to receive that kind of email in terms of

1:55.0

just the understanding and the kind of permission and the lack of pressure. And this guy actually

2:00.6

said, oh, just it's amazing to work for a place that looks and feels like that.
