Summary

Your thoughts and emotions produce your experience of life so if you're constantly saying, "I don't have time" or "Time is slipping away" or "There's never enough time and money" you will create an experience of LACK. You'll FEEL that sense of scarcity.   Time management is really more about self-management. How are you managing yourself   The first command—-Be fruitful and multiply. Multiply your joy, your love, your creativity, your play, and your time.   How long is this going to matter? What can I do right now that will make the quality of my life better?   Spend time on things that give you time. What we say no to today creates more time for us tomorrow. You are always saying no to something. If you can't eliminate the task, can you create a process for it?   How I create more time AND create a life that feels full and meaningful and joyful:   Slow down—do things that are slow, do things slower, cultivate plenty of free time. Make the most of your down time, treat the weekend like a vacation. Do more of what matters (play, rest, active activities versus passive ) Procrastinate on purpose—there's a difference in waiting to do something because we know that now is not the right time, sometimes if you procrastinate enough, the issue becomes a non issue Eliminate, delegate, automate what you can. Oh, hi. Welcome back to the podcast. So happy to see you again. Happy end of summer. I mean, some of you, it might not be end of summer, but Tom starts school tomorrow. So I am just relishing in the last month. We have had such a restful, playful time together as a family.

I also welcome to my second grandbaby. So that's been so fun. Today we're talking about time.

Today we're talking about creating time. And I want to share with you

a few stories and some ways that I think about time and some, I would call them strategies,

tools that I use to create more time for myself. Am I actually creating more time? No, but I'm creating the

sense of more time. And as a recovering like productivity guru, I love thinking about this.

I just read a book actually called 4,000 weeks and it was really good, kind of made me think about certain things even deeper and better.

I also have been reading Outlive by Peter Attia, and so that book, I always talk about this, you guys, but how books dance around in my head when I'm

reading them at the same time or near each other. I finished 4,000 weeks. I haven't finished this one yet.

So I spent the last month traveling.

We have a cabin in Minnesota, so we spent a lot of time there, a lot of good

electric bikes while we were in Minnesota. So that was super fun. Tom and I took some really

cool bike rides, several to the bakery in town, which was also fun. And then, of course, when the grandbaby was born, I flew back to Tennessee and spent several days. And that was, you know what, like for all of you who are in that like newborn period of time with your family like

it's to me it's just such a sweet sacred I know also can be a taxing time that was super precious
