Hello everybody and welcome to Books Unbound, the podcast where we Unbind Books

0:14.1

to get to their hearts with your hosts, us.

0:17.9

It's Ariel and Raylene.

0:20.3

Hello.

0:24.2

I do feel like it's a bit more of a Rubin day, actually.

0:32.0

Perhaps. I was being a little crazy a couple minutes ago. We have some weird energy going on in this room.

0:35.7

And I'm not even like overly caffeinated or anything. I don't know. It just, it's in me.

0:38.3

I'm about to become overly caffeinated. Let me tell you. I got a, I got a coffee right here, number two of the day. And I'll tell you one, I'll tell you what. Even one coffee is a mistake for me. So I don't know what the hell I'm doing over here. I'll tell you what I'm doing. I have to wake up at 6.50 this morning. Ew. That's not okay. I didn't even have to do that and I usually do for work.

0:39.8

So that's... 50 this morning. Ew. That's not okay. I didn't even have to do that and I usually do for work.

0:57.2

So that's really unfortunate for you.

1:00.1

Like I 100% recognize that I'm very lucky to work a job where I don't have to wake up early

1:07.9

in the morning.

1:08.8

But, you know, acknowledging that aside, because I wake up between 9 and 10 every day, having to wake up any earlier that, then that is brutal, right? It really sucks. You know, it's like if you're a person who always has to wake up at 6 or 7 in the morning, if you have to wake up one day at like three or four in the morning,

1:27.9

that's horrible. So that's what it was like for me. And I was just like, this is, this is wrong.

1:35.3

Like, this doesn't feel too good. So, so bad. But, so I had a coffee at around like, I think,

1:43.5

so I always like to have my, I always make coffee for my mom and me or for me, Connor and my mom, depending on who's around.

1:50.3

And so I made coffee at like 10 or 10.30. And now it's almost three. And I haven't had lunch. That's the big mistake.

2:00.6

Yeah. So if you don't have... Just ice cap and nothing to eat? I was like, this is bad. What are you doing? It's dumb is what it is. I'm asking for the jitters over here. So we'll see how I'm feeling by the end of the podcast. But it's... So basically, I made too much coffee the other day. I put the rest of the coffee in a mason jar and I put that in my fridge once it had cooled. So I, you know, for cold brew. And then, so this cup is like half of it is the coffee. Yeah. And then the rest of it, maybe more than half of it, is like protein shake. Oh, cool. Like, you know what I mean? Yeah, yeah, yeah. So I was hoping that that would help fuel me, like, a sort of like a meal replacement, because I think they are like a little meal replacement things. But mixing it with the coffee, I don't know if that cancels it out, but... Probably. It's delicious. Caramel flavor. At least we have that. Oh, man, Raleen. It's been a hectic couple of days over here, a hectic couple of days over there. But we've got big news. Let me just tell everyone, right? I'm just going to tell everyone our big news. You don't even know what I'm talking about. I forget. What's the news? Our big news is that I'm going to go visit Ray Lee in a month. Oh my God. It's so soon. All of a sudden, it's so soon. And I'm so excited. And I'm so excited and terrified. Exactly. You sent me a text last night that was like, I can't believe I'm going to see you in a month. And I was like, I actually can't believe that either. Like, it feels like it just happened all of a sudden, but a month is not that long. No. And then that means I'm, I mean, I'm getting married in less than two months, which is also crazy. It's all happening, man. This is going to be a wild couple of months

3:41.8

for us. I really, really think, nobody hold me to this, but I really, really think that I am

3:49.2

going to write a book about the year where five of my friends got married. That feels like a

3:55.4

rom-com. It's just too much.

3:58.3

It's just too much to watch all of your best friends get married is really weird.
