Summary

Making friends as an adult is HARD. Between busy schedules, social anxiety, and the fear of rejection, it’s easy to feel like deep, meaningful friendships are out of reach. But real community isn’t something you find—it’s something you build.

In this episode, we’re talking about what it actually takes to create strong adult friendships, why biblical fellowship matters (Hebrews 10:24-25, Proverbs 27:17), and how to be the kind of friend you’re wanting others to be for you. If you’ve ever felt lonely, disconnected, or frustrated by surface-level relationships, this conversation will provide practical, encouraging advice.

Whether you’re looking to make friends as an adult, strengthen your marriage through friendships, or build a Christ-centered community, this episode will equip you with the tools to be the kind of friend who stands out—and to cultivate the village you’ve been longing for.

Hello, everybody. This is Lindsay Myestis and welcome back to the Living Easy podcast. I just got back

0:07.4

from a fun little brunch coffee date with one of my close friends. She actually moved to Nashville

We hadn't talked in a little bit,

0:27.8

but it has been so nice to reconnect

0:30.6

and to have a piece of home here.

0:32.6

So we went to this place,

0:33.9

if you've ever been to Franklin or Brentwood,

0:36.2

called Cremma, and I love their coffee.

0:39.5

It is a little bit loud. I get oversimulated pretty easily, but I do love a good coffee shop

0:45.7

work date because I cannot work from home. I'm just the worst. But anyway, we got into this

0:52.4

conversation about friendship and community.

0:56.7

And I had already been working on this episode and just kind of praying over it and thinking about what I wanted to say.

1:02.7

And our conversation was so fruitful and encouraging.

1:05.4

So I wanted to share a little bit with you.

1:08.1

The episode is titled, Everyone Wants a Village, but nobody wants to be a

1:12.6

villager. I think that this is so relevant for adulthood. And it's not to say or to call you out and

1:21.6

say you're wanting these things, but you're unwilling to do these things, but maybe there is

1:26.8

just some awareness of things
