Summary

Show Notes:

Are you truly aware of the emotional blind spots that might be holding you back in your relationships, faith, and personal growth? In this episode, Lindsey Maestas dives into the power of conviction, the importance of self-awareness, choosing sin, and spiritual complacency.

Lindsey thought of a random ChatGPT prompt on her drive home from Florida and realized how helpful it was. This prompt helped her to explore hidden thought patterns, emotional wounds, and unhealthy habits that impact her daily life.

James 1:22 reminds us not to just hear the Word but to do what it says, because ignoring, or justifying, conviction is self-deception.

If you’ve ever struggled with repeating the same mistakes, feeling stuck in unhealthy cycles, or wondering why certain relationships feel strained, this episode is for you. We talk about living out true repentance, not just feeling guilty but actively making changes with God’s help.

Self-awareness isn’t about self-improvement alone—it’s about surrendering to Jesus and letting His conviction shape us into who we’re meant to be. Whether you’re dealing with pride, control, defensiveness, or fear, God is calling you to more.

Hey guys, welcome back to the Living Easy podcast. This is Lindsay Miestis and we just go back from

0:08.5

spring break. So I am sitting down literally just a few hours after getting home from 30A,

0:15.0

which is in Florida. It's like 30 minutes from Destin. If you have never been, it is so magical.

0:22.9

I have posted quite a bit on my Instagram highlights. If you want to check that out, we've been there three times now, I believe.

0:28.8

And I honestly never get tired of it. It feels so magical. It kind of feels like you're in a different

0:35.7

country. 30A is basically a highway, but then on the

0:39.7

highway there are different kind of like little towns, but the towns feel European. So Alice Beach

0:46.9

feels to me, it feels like Greece. It's white, everything, but then the shutters are pink and blue

0:53.3

and green in the doors it just feels so clean

0:57.1

and good it is still under construction so i'm really excited to go back in like three years when it's

1:01.9

all done and i want to stay in alice on the beach because it's so so pretty and then there's rosemary

1:07.6

beach which is reminiscent of kind of like Germany or Dutch architecture.

1:13.0

And it is so, so pretty.

1:14.8

I love all the little shops and the food.

1:17.2

So we took the boys and stayed at a friend's home she hosted us in the neighborhood prominence on 30A.

1:25.4

I tagged the house on my highlights as well. I really, really love that area

1:30.5

because it's right across from this kind of, it's like the hub. It's called the Big Chill.

1:35.4

And there are tons of restaurants and grass areas and all that. The kids had a blast. Saxon

1:40.5

loves to vacation like his mama and he did not want to leave. He was so sad.

1:46.6

But, and he's like his best self on vacation, which I also feel like I am. I think it's really

1:51.4

interesting that someone at that age can feel that way. So I'm kind of dissecting it.

1:56.9

But on this trip, coming back to the point of this episode, I really started to think about my blind spots.
