Hi everybody, this is Joe Lampel, the Joe Behind Joe Gardner, and welcome to the Joe Gardner

I'm a huge fan of this week's guest, Doug Talamy.

He's the author of the Blockbuster book, Bringing Nature Home.

It transformed the way many horticulturalists and backyard warriors viewed the urban landscape.

And this book opened up all our eyes to the consequences or benefits of our plant choices.

You may have even heard a previous podcast episode I did with Doug in episode 12.

That was a long time ago.

In fact, it was 12 years ago that Doug wrote that book.

Well, if you're like me, wondering when Doug would come out with his next book, I'm happy

to report the way is finally over.

Doug's newest book, Nature's Best Hope, just published.

I mean, literally this week, and let me tell you, this book is a perfect compliment and

picks up where bringing nature home left off.

Both books teach us how our plants affect wildlife populations and our environment as a whole,

as well as the simple steps we as gardeners can take to make a difference.

One backyard at a time, but I really love how he just picks up where he left off with

a lot of great new information.
