Here is the second half of our delightful chat with Dan.

We were talking to Jake Shears from the Cisicisters.

And he told us the story about how he used to call you up, right?

Do you remember those signs?

Oh god, yeah. We still sent him the recording, right?

Yeah. Jake and I and Terry were all still friends

and I had a terrestrial radio show pre-podcasting and I only got away with it because the FCC

didn't know Seattle existed at that time.

And so we were saying this on the radio that would get Howard Stern shut down and getting away with it.

Yeah.

And he called in a couple of times and then I met him at a queer youth event that I was hosting and drag back when I did drag.

And he, you know, was 15 years old and in a boarding school in Seattle and arts boarding school

and had kind of convinced his parents without telling him he was gay to get into hell out of Arizona.

I was being bullied for being gay.

And he wanted to know, he wanted my advice about it.

They should tell his parents who's gay.

And I was like, okay, so what do you think they know and how do they act and listen to him?

And then I was like, I think they know and they're just waiting for you to say, so you should tell them.

And then he told them and they didn't know.

And they threatened to pull him out of school and get him out of Seattle and drive back to Arizona.
