surely will not be controversial or raise any emotions in any direction whatsoever, which is a little bit of a departure around these parts.

We're used to breaking down 2008 playoff series and all kinds of

quirky things of that nature but today essentially I put out this video recently about the evolution of the rules, the evolution of the way the game has been called,

the changes over time and kind of leading to where we are today with all kinds of crazy tactics like

the rip through and jumping into players and up fakes for fouls and all that stuff it's it's a fairly long video I think it's almost 30

minutes in runtime if you haven't seen it on the thinking basketball YouTube

channel but that has sparked conversations about officiating and Cody and I have gone back and forth in our slack.

We've got there's just a lot of conversations we've had around this and we thought it would be a good idea to or maybe

a terrible idea I don't know to continue the conversation or get it on record here today because

there's a lot of interesting sort of issues or avenues that I feel like this

topic brought up and before we get to those I'll say this as the background for me Cody going through and and actually laying out all of these clips from all of these games that I've watched over a very long period of time.

And looking at what we have in the 60s,

and then a ton more film in the 70s,

and then of course, since the 80s,

it's just almost endless games,

you and I can't even get through them all.
