We talk about the church militant and the church triumphant.

It is one church, but it is a church that stands on either side of death.

So, the church militant stands on this side of death and the church triumphant stands on the

other side of death. We all await the resurrection, but is the triumphant something that we need

to wait for? Is the victory that Christ has won at the cross, something that's still waiting to

happen for us? We want to believe that this is an insured victory, and Christ says it is,

because it is solidly based in what has already happened, his death and his resurrection.

So, to what extent are we the church militant, also the church victorious?
