You're never going to find another Baptist who agrees with you completely on everything.

So as Western culture grows more dark, more evil, more secular,

we have to decide, are we going to treat each others as allies or adversaries?

Since this is the year 2022, that means we are 2022 years from the birth of Christ.

Just 11 years from today is the 2000th anniversary of the Great Commission.

I hope one of you, because I won't be here next year, will make a resolution

that Baptist take the next 10 years to finish the task of the Great Commission

in our generation before the 2000th anniversary of the Church.

Are we going to keep bickering over secondary issues?

Are we going to keep the main thing the main thing?

That's Rick Warren speaking at the Southern Baptist Conventions annual meeting last summer.

Of course, he and his congregation were being called on the carpet by that denomination

for ordaining women something he said, well, as recently as three years ago, he rejected.

But now he's not only ordaining women at his own congregation,

he is appealing a removal of Saddleback congregation from the Southern Baptist Convention

and trying to persuade the entire denomination to follow suit.
