The Witness Protection Program has always loomed large in the public imagination, usually depicted as a haven for turn-coat mobsters.

But who really lives within the protected realm of the Witness Protection Program? Well, the public doesn't know for sure. And that's sort of the point.

Jackie Taylor was just seven years old when she and her family entered the Federal Witness Security Program, commonly called Witness Protection or Witsick.

We're ushered into black vans and I remember stopping and switching vans.

It's a program shrouded in secrecy run by the US Marshal Service. Witnesses in danger are protected, relocated and given new identities in exchange for turning security.

Exchange for turning state evidence against organized crime cartels or terrorist organizations.

So one of the reasons that Paul's allowed to be here with me is that I wanted to ask Bobby about something that I know you all have asked me about and that's the witness protection program and everything I know about the witness protection program I learned from the movie Goodfellas.

So which I'm going to be talking about and the only person that I know who knows more than anybody about besides Martin Scorsese about Goodfellas is Paul Francis Sullivan.

Yes, it's one of my 10 favorite movies of all time and it happened to come out my freshman year at NYU when everyone there was a Scorsese of file.

Goodfellas came out like in September or October of 1990 and it played at a theater on 8th Street that was about a block away from our classes at NYU and so it turned into what are you going to do after class day.
