If I were in your shoes.

If I were in your shoes, if I were in your shoes.

What does this mean?

Well, simply it means if I were you. We don't actually imagine wearing somebody else's shoes. That could be very dirty or very painful. I'm a guy. My feet are

kind of big. So if I put on my sister's shoes, that would be

painful. Anyway, my sister's feet stink. So if I tell my sister, if I were in your shoes,

it doesn't mean I want to wear her shoes. What it means is, if I were you,

I would do this. So if somebody asks you a question, if somebody needs your advice, if somebody

tells you what they're going to do, but if you think another option

might be better, if you want to give them your advice, if you want to give them your opinion,

you can use this expression. If I were in your shoes, I would, that, that, that, that. So, for example,

maybe you have some friends who want to study English, and they ask you, or they tell you,

I'm studying English online. I use this teacher. He or she is really great.

And then you can say,

oh, really?
