Most of the time I talk about the method because method trumps every tool or implementation.

But today I just wanted to announce that, depending on when you're listening to this, the iPad app for Wienab is here.

It's a universal app, meaning that if you already have it on your iPhone, you'll just need

to update it, and then when you pull up the same app on your iPad, you'll see lots of new features, a new view.

It's quite tremendous, actually. You'll find that you lean on your iPad for lots of the budgeting, the desktop for heavy transaction entry lifting,

the iPhone for quick on-the-go transaction entry and category balance checking.

I've quite enjoyed using the iPad over the last little while, as has Julie.

A couple features that are iPad specific that you will not have on your iPhone is the ability to budget the entire month,

the ability to quickly tap on what I'm calling kind of quick links where you can tap on the

average that you spent over the last three months what you budgeted last month what

you spent last month and that automatically populates your budget cell and then you just hit next.

The budgeting on the iPad is very fast with both of those opposable thumbs that you have,

just tap tap, tap, and you are done, especially if you only have two categories

because then it would be pretty much four taps.

If you are looking for tons of reports on the iPad, you will not get that.

I don't think that reports are totally necessary for that form factor, nor do I think that reports are even that necessary

overall. People put a lot of weight on them when they're evaluating things, but then in actual

use we found they're used very very little so we would

rather spend our time coding for features that you will actually use not the ones you think you will use so the iPad will not have use,

so the iPad will not have reports or things like that.
