Did Pope Leo just exercise and baptize AI, artificial intelligence?

Some people are noticing that Pope Leo is working with the company Anthropic,

which is the mastermind AI machinery behind Claude.

Claude is actually a very powerful AI instrument.

I've used it before.

And some people think that just as when Pope Francis met twice

with the CEO of Pfizer, and then coming out with statements saying, hey, everybody needs to get

poked.

We're in a similar situation where we have a multi-billion dollar complex AI, the leader, anthropic,

sort of working together in dialogue, in journeying together, to talk about AI.

And I did a show last week here on YouTube where I talked about what I think the Pope will

address. And he addressed much of it, but not all of it. And it's a long

document. It's 180-something pages. And as you might imagine, theology discussing social doctrine of

the church and artificial intelligence is by its nature not very stimulating.

I don't think that is a is a knock or criticism on Pope Leo. I'm thinking of myself, if I were

going to write on this topic, is there a way to make it sizzle? You know, other than going very apocalyptic and talking about the end of the world and

basically doing Terminator 2, robots are going to come in and enslave us, you know, there's

not really a way to make this a topic that's a turnpager.

And so the first part of the encyclical is laying out, describing,

it's sort of a sermon on the church's doctrine of social teaching, which is not most people's

favorite topic, but it is part of our Catholic faith. And it is important. And going back, it's not just a Vatican

two thing. It's not a 1960 thing. You know, most of us point back to Pope Leo the 13th,
