Hello everyone, welcome to the podcast of The Ellis James and John Robbins show.

We do hope you're doing okay wherever you are, whoever you are with,

and we continue to broadcast from our homes, which is not always ideal,

but it keeps you on your toes, doesn't it Ellis?

You know what it makes me want to do John, makes me want to have a holiday from my life.

You got such a great life.

I have, it's just the only time I think it's going to get on top of me is when we broadcast to the nation

on domestic Wi-Fi from a laptop that's six years old. I don't know, it's just a couple of glitches

in the show today is absolutely fine. I know they'll be tidied up for this podcast.

So don't worry, I don't know, I just, it doesn't feel very normal.

But this sort of analogy only half works because we've got so many people working so hard

to make sure these things don't happen and to provide us with a technology to make them less frequent,

but it's a bit like going out on tour without a tour manager when you're worrying about stuff

that you actually can't do anything about. And you don't have the expertise to fix?

Yes. So when we went on tour we had a tour manager, lovely Giles, and Giles could fix anything

that was going to go wrong. Whereas when we've done tours without tour managers, if there is an

issue with the sound, then I don't know anything about how to run a sound desk at a mid-sized

regional art centre. Well also, I mean it's testament to the people working behind the scenes,

Dave and the SMs up in Manchester that if you listen to a five minute interview on a radio show

with someone calling over Wi-Fi, chances are they'll glitch a couple of times. So the course of

an hour and a half show, it only happens twice, but it's been, Ellis's setup is slightly complicated
