Summary

In the wake of The Great Resignation, what are the new ways employees can leverage this movement to ask for more money? Whether you're seeking a raise at your current company or looking to negotiate a new salary, guest Alex Carter joins to discuss insights from the paperback of her bestselling book Ask for More: Ten Questions to Negotiate Anything — the first negotiation book solo-authored by a woman to make that list. We discuss macro issues like inflation and if/how that should be woven into your negotiation, how to drive home your value in a digital-only workplace where it may be more challenging to be recognized for your work and productivity and lots more workplace negotiating advice. More about Alex: She is a Clinical Professor of Law and Director of the Mediation Clinic at Columbia Law School. She has spent the last eleven years helping thousands of people negotiate better, build relationships and reach their goals. In 2019, Alex was awarded the Columbia University Presidential Award for Outstanding Teaching, Columbia University’s highest teaching honor.
