Hey, welcome back to the Lord of the Rings lore cast.

This is an extra episode. It would be a daily drive, but I'm actually able to record this out of my office today because my father was nice enough to go pick up my son from school. So you were getting a full quality office recorded episode about the Rings of Power. Season two, episode two. And let's get into it. Let's talk about dwarves. Because this episode has so

much to do with the dwarves. We have, we're catching up with what's going on with Duren and Disa

and their family and the fact that he is now estranged from his father due to the events from

the first season, and that they are trying to scrape by, that they are working hard, that they

are kind of relegated to this regular family, you know, double checking the price of produce

and all that sort of thing. But what I wanted to point out here is just how wonderful the dwarf setting is.

Not only do we have these really cool views of the inside of Kazadoum,

but we also get the culture, the people, the dwarves walking around at the marketplace. This feels like a very

real world kind of location. The kinds of places that you can still go to today, but also

harken back for centuries, the kinds of things that you see in modern day marketplaces where

you still have vendors selling things.

And in the United States, this is more like a flea market or like a mall kind of setup.

But there are a lot of places around the world where you have just these open markets and people

shopping.

And the, holy crap, guys, the outfits that they are wearing, the hairstyles that the

women dwarves wear, the different beard variations, the facial hair on the women.

All of these little details add up to create something that feels kind of slightly foreign, but yet

familiar at the same time.

And the dwarves, as we've talked about on the show previously, and this goes back, this

goes way back to, I think, the dwarf episode where we first begin the discussion of the

creation of the dwarves.
