Hugh Hefner was a callous, con man. He created the myth of “the playboy.” A rich man, who lived in his pajamas, worshipped by beautiful women. He sold his myth like Phillip Morris sold the Marlboro Man.

It was sex without consequences. Where women give without taking and never grow old. And we bought into it one masturbation session at a time.

In this episode, I discuss his legacy and the "obviously wicked and destructive things" he left behind.

0:47.2	some of these eulogies that sort of celebrated all of his accomplishments and ignored all of his flaws. It kind of annoyed me.
0:57.5	And I took to Facebook and I wrote a simple post. I said, rest and how, H.H. And while it didn't go
1:06.9	well, I got a lot of feedback from some Christian guys. I got a lot of feedback from some
1:12.1	liberal guys and guys who are non-religious that I really overstepped my my bounds here.
1:23.2	And unfortunately, it was the conversation I didn't want to have about Hugh Hefner.
1:30.2	It kind of got off of what I really wanted to talk about.
1:33.4	It was a distraction.
1:35.5	And so today, I want to reset that conversation.
1:39.6	And I want to start again.
1:41.2	And I want to look critically at Hugh Hefner's life and talk specifically
1:45.5	about the seven lies that I think he believed and worked very hard to perpetuate in his business
1:54.4	and in his life. And I want to talk about how those lies affect us and how we are tempted to agree with them.
