| 0:56.8 | in a home where following Jesus was modeled and our parents might have been following Jesus, |
| 1:02.7 | perhaps our entire lives, but that does not immediately transfer over and mean that we have |
| 1:09.0 | been Christian since birth. And this is actually why I get a |
| 1:11.8 | little bit, sometimes I can be a little troubled when I hear people say things like, well, I've |
| 1:16.1 | always been a Christian. And I'm thinking, no, no one has always been a Christian. Every single one of us |
| 1:21.5 | had a period of time where we were not following him and then we encountered him and began to follow |
| 1:26.2 | him. And so that's why I actually will use the phrase sometimes that I'm talking to people. |
| 1:31.7 | I'll say, how long have you been following Jesus, as opposed to just saying, how long have |
| 1:35.2 | you been a Christian? |
| 1:36.3 | Because when we hear the word Christian, sometimes we just think, well, how long have I |
| 1:40.1 | agreed with in my head the facts of the gospel? But when we ask the question, how long have you |
| 1:46.1 | been following Jesus? That implies activity, devotion, and allegiance to Jesus, which is what's |
