Summary

Adam, Chelsea, and Cassie welcome Courtney Doctor (TGC) and Hunter Beless (Journeywomen) to talk discipleship vs. mentorship, their new Titus study, and how “life-on-life” relationships shape homes and churches. They hit family-level application (parents as primary disciple-makers), theological triage, and practical rhythms like Bible study in community and gospel-centered conversations.Resources Mentioned: Let this Mother’s Day be a reminder that she deserves care, too. co-host, Mrs. Cassie Bryant and my wife, Mrs. Chelsea Griffin. Cassie, I don't think I know this answer,

0:28.6

but when you think about someone who disciples you, who comes to mind for you? Like when you think

0:32.6

about somebody that really poured into your life and helped you follow Jesus, maybe paved the way as a model for you. Who comes to mind? You'll know her, actually. I think it would be Sarah Chilton. Oh, wow. She was a senior, my freshman year of high school, and she disciples a group of us freshmen. And then her older sister was our youth pastor's wife, and she disciples me our senior year, Mary Royal, at First Baptist

Central Falls. So she, both of those women from the same family were really big impacts

my high school years. And I'm just so grateful for them leading me in young, like womanhood,

and then kind of launching me out into the world in college. So yeah. Giggum. Shout out Sarah

Chilton, College Station.

1:11.7

I know. Speaking of College Station, Chelsea, who disciples you? The Aggie spirit. No, I'm just

1:16.3

kidding.

1:19.9

Brits would be proud. Yeah, Aggies believes stuff like that. So let's just be clear and say that

1:24.1

that that's not real. But truthfully at A&M, I felt like I came there not really having a relationship with the Lord, having kind of some seeds of faith. And I couldn't get away from people that wanted to read the Bible with me, pray with me. And so, yeah, I can think of a handful of girls, a girl named Kara, had a huge impact on me. And she would just ask me hard questions that,

1:44.5

or I thought they were like the hardest questions I'd ever heard. I was like, I don't even know what that means. Where she was just saying things like, well, how's your relationship with Christ? And I was like baffled. And when she asked me that, I said, good, too. Good to strong good. Good to super good. And then I'm like, I'm going to scurry away and try to find out what on earth that means, you know. But really, I mean, she was there to answer those questions and she, I think, knew I didn't know what it meant. And that's why she was asking. But anyways, she was pretty relentless with me. And I knew I didn't have a car. and she picked me up, took me to church at a church that, you know, had a profound impact on my life. Yeah, I love that. Well, both of you, Cassie and Chelsea, you guys just missed out on the best opportunity to say, I've been so disciples by these two women who I wish we had on our podcast. Sorry. sorry. Today we have two incredible guests with us.
