Summary

Children of parents with a mental illness.  Breaking trauma patterns.

So Triggered! What Is A Trigger & How Can I Stop Getting Triggered? available now on the HEAL blog  https://howmyparentsraisedme.com/blog-childhood-trauma/

Growing up was confusing for Lisa.  Her father was living with a mental illness and her Mom was in denial and struggling to cope.  Her father would try to condition Lisa into believing ideas that were not necessarily what the rest of the world believed.  And Lisa was subjected to community abuse and nicknames simply for being his daughter.  This chaotic home life led to Lisa's 27 year marriage to an older man she believed loved her, but looking back Lisa now understands she mistook control, manipulation and fathering, for love.  Lisa has been on a huge healing journey and she now works with her clients to help them break the trauma cycle, because it is only through awareness and understanding the cycles of trauma that we can change the lives of ourselves and our children.
