Welcome to the happiness podcast. I'm Dr. Robert Puff. You may or you may not relate to this, but one of the things that I learned in the past that I wasn't very good at is putting things together. For example, when I got my first apartment, I got a book

0:26.0

case to put on my books on and it had to be assembled and I thought, well, that doesn't

0:30.4

sound very hard. So I started putting it together without unfortunately reading the instructions.

0:36.0

And on the back part of it, which was there to hold the books in place, there was a line right through the middle of it.

0:42.0

I thought, that's curious. So I cut it in half and then started putting it together because that's what I thought the line was for to cut it in half.

0:48.5

And it wasn't for that. It was a place where you were supposed to put the nails in to hold the board together against the back of the bookcase.

0:56.0

So I didn't completely destroy the bookcase, but it was a little bit not in the best shape when I was done putting it together.

1:02.0

But with time I realized that I could actually

1:05.0

be pretty good at putting things together as long as I followed the instructions and nowadays

1:09.6

with YouTube it's so easy as long as we follow the instructions of how to do it right.

1:15.0

But when I don't follow the instructions, I sometimes put things together not in the best order.

1:20.0

I don't know how early it was for you, but very early I figured out that life really didn't come

1:26.1

with a plan, a plan which said if you do this and that that everything would turn out well.

1:31.4

So I went about trying to find a plan and it took a long time to come up with

1:36.3

one. So in today's episode I want to share with their listeners what is perhaps, I know we may disagree, but what is the least perhaps

1:45.1

a good plan for living life?

1:47.6

Because I think when we have a plan, life tends to go better.

1:51.2

When we don't have a plan, like me putting things together, it just doesn't go as well.

1:55.0

So I'm going to share what I consider a good plan for living life, and I know not everyone may agree with it,

2:01.0

but at least spend a little time thinking about it and say, huh, I wonder if I went by this

2:05.6

plan if life might go pretty well for me.

2:09.8

For me, what's always been important is to keep things very simple. I don't like complicated
