Hello, and welcome to Cathagiancers Live. Thank you so much for being here with us on this Good Friday.

We've been preempted on the EWTN radio network because, of course, there are important liturgies of the Tritium,

important Good Friday liturgies that they are attending to.

And so we pulled a show that we did on Good Friday of 2018 with our good friend and former

chaplain, Father Hugh Barber, on the precious blood of the Lord. This was a wonderful episode,

0:29.4

and we wanted to share it with you again. I introduced Father Hugh as our chaplain, which he was,

and it was kind of a beautiful time when he was our chaplain, but he is back among his brothers, his confrars at St. Michael's Abbey up in Orange County. But here's Father Hugh on the precious blood of the Lord. Enjoy the episode. And we'll be back with you again after Easter.

Welcome back to Catholic Answers live again, a very blessed Good Friday to you and your family today is the day. If you are not Catholic or maybe not Christian and you're listening to us and wondering what Good Friday is all about. Today is the day that we commemorate what we call the passion of the Lord, the death of the Lord on the cross out of love for us. And so it is among the most holy days that we can celebrate. devotion. Father, thank you so much for being here with us.

2:00.7

I'm happy to be here. Father, thank you so much for being here with us. Happy to be here.

2:27.3

an ex-virtue to justice. We can't really give God as due. So we do the best we can. So

2:32.8

the devotion is the act whereby we show prompt and ready service

2:38.5

of God. That's the things that pertain to the service of God. So devotion is stirred up then by those

2:47.1

things that most affect our imagination and our feelings.

2:52.2

Yes.

2:52.7

Now, intrinsically, like in the deepest sense, devotion might be stirred up by

2:57.5

mysteries that are not something that can appeal to our understanding like the Blessed
