1:01.5

So what came out today, Jimmy?

1:03.7

It was a look at the Book of Revelation.

1:07.9

I've done previous episodes on aspects of the Book of Revelation, like, what is the mark of the beast? And is there a rapture and stuff like that? But this time I was looking at the book as a whole and saying, okay, what's the basic interpretation of the book? How does it relate to history? There are a number of

1:31.2

different schools. There are five major ones, really four major ones, but I also cover a fifth,

1:37.0

that make different claims about how revelation relates to history. The school oforicism says it's basically a roadmap of church

1:47.9

history from beginning to end. Idealism says it's not a roadmap, but it talks about the kinds of

1:54.9

things that are going to happen over and over again in church history. Futurism says it's all

2:00.0

talking about events in our future. Prederism says it's all talking about events in our future.

2:02.7

Pretterism says it's all talking about, or it's primarily talking about events that are in our

2:07.5

past. And then there's a very, very small minority view called Pantilism, which says

2:14.8

all of Revelation, including the end of it, and actually all biblical prophecy, has been

2:21.2

fulfilled. There is no more prophecy to be fulfilled. So I talk about these views. I talk about

2:28.2

how they developed when they became popular, and I then go through the evidence and rank them on a tier list from F at the bottom

2:39.5

through A at the top and then S for the most superior view. And so it's an interesting journey

2:49.4

and I'm pretty convinced I've got the basic correct interpretation, but take a listen and see if you agree.

2:57.1

All right.
