Summary

An incredibly rich conversation about how travel transforms your character. Mary interviews Chelsea Glass, owner of Heart of Travel, an organization that helps you learn about Latin American culture through Spanish classes and small group trips. You will learn about… - how to travel ethically and truly support the country you’re visiting - the hardships of interracial and intercultural relationships - how to find your “home,” whether it’s the place you were born or somewhere abroad Remember: travel can teach us so much about ourselves and the world around us. If done intentionally, travel transforms you. Chelsea Glass was born and raised in California and first began studying Spanish at the age of 19. After more than a decade immersed in the language, along with her post-graduate studies in Spanish at CSU Sacramento, Chelsea is a fluent Spanish speaker and experienced language instructor. From 2012 to 2016, Chelsea worked in both tourism and language education (Spanish and ESL) while pursuing her M.A. in Spanish before moving back full time to Guatemala in 2017 to start Heart of Travel. Chelsea has a deep passion for authentic travel and aims to dispel preconceived ideas and notions about Latin American cultures through small group trips. She currently resides in Antigua, Guatemala with her partner and two daughters.
