Every morning on Thanksgiving each year, my great uncle takes out me and my cousin Georgie

to a place we call the hollow to go bore hunting.

The hollow is a large, miles-long stretch of evergreens, a short drive from our cluster

of houses, and it's ripe for killing boars.

Boar hunting is fun, and the meat is delicious, better than the bacon you can buy on the shelves

in my opinion.

Plus there's something about hunting early in the morning that's peaceful, clears your

head, makes you forget about the bad things for a while.
