Hey everybody and welcome back to I Just Want to talk about the Bible.

0:09.2

If this is your first time joining us, then let me just welcome you and say that I am so glad that you're here with us today.

0:14.7

My name is Christian Keeter and I live in the southeast of the United States of America with my amazing, beautiful, godly wife Lacey,

0:21.5

and our two wonderful daughters, Felicity and Serenity. All right, guys, well, today we are going

0:27.4

to begin the process of working our way through the book of Galatians. Now, this isn't something

0:33.7

that we're going to try to tackle all in one or even two episodes. While I don't plan

0:38.9

on, you know, going into extreme depth with every single solitary verse in the book, I do plan on

0:46.1

not rushing through this. And so I don't know if it'll, I don't know how long this process is going to

0:51.3

last, but I want us just to work through it to see the flow of Paul's logic here to really draw out some of the main points and main applications.

1:01.3

And part of the reason why I want us to do this actually originates on a very personal level.

1:05.8

I had been thinking about how I wanted to work my way through Galatians and spend some time thinking on it

1:12.9

and meditating on it just for my own personal walk to Lord, because I believe that that would be

1:16.4

very helpful to me and helpful at dismantling some just wrong ways that I find myself slipping

1:21.6

into thinking when it comes to my relationship with Jesus and things like legalism, which we'll talk about

1:30.2

as we work through this series.

1:33.7

But I wanted to share it with you guys too.

1:36.3

And I don't know.

1:37.4

I think it's going to be a lot of fun.

1:38.7

So like I said, we're just going to work our way through it.

1:40.5

And this means we're going to read the entire book, not today, but we're going to read

1:44.1

chunks of scripture and then talk through it, and then we're going to draw out some applications. So I just wanted to lay that out. That's kind of the format that we're going to be approaching this from for the next however many weeks. But before we get into the actual book of Galatians, Let's just do a little bit of context work here.

2:18.3

So who is the author? The author is the Apostle Paul that is made clear in the first verse verse, which we'll see in just a moment. And who is he writing to? So it says in verse two, to the churches of Galatia, churches, plural, of Galatia. Now what you need to know is that Galatia is not a city.
