Hello everybody and welcome to another episode of the serious sellers podcast by Helium 10. I am your host,

0:22.2

Bradley Sutton, and this is the show that's a completely BS-free, organic, unscripted, unrehearsed,

0:28.4

conversation about serious strategies for serious sellers of any level in the e-commerce world.

0:34.4

And speaking of serious, these are kind of serious times. It's why I wanted to make this special episode that's, you know, kind of has to do with the coronavirus and the kind of things that we're seen around. I see a lot of fear and anxiety out there amongst Amazon sellers. So just wanted to kind of address some of these concerns and talk about some of the things that have been happening because I know a lot of you guys are, are perhaps, you know, wondering the same things that I've been seen in the Facebook groups and

0:58.0

places like that. So let's get into it. First of all, is this the end of the world? Yes, this is a

1:04.0

tough time, but as far as figuratively for Amazon sellers, the answer is emphatically no. In fact, in my

1:09.5

opinion, this is one of the most exciting times.

1:12.8

You know, it's kind of tough to use the word exciting in this kind of climate.

1:16.9

But when I say exciting, I'm talking about the potential of e-commerce just in general.

1:21.5

I mean, for example, just yesterday in California, the governor put the whole state almost on lockdown.

1:27.8

You know, like unless you're at an essential business, you've got to stay home. Well, how are these people going

1:33.0

to order their necessities? It's going to be online. You know, like in the past, e-commerce has

1:37.8

only, you know, been what, 5, 10% or so of retail purchases in the United States, how is that going to increase now with all

1:46.2

the shopping malls and retail stores and everything closed? I mean, it is not going to be 10% anymore.

1:50.9

It's going to be 50% or even more in some places. So it's exciting not to think about the coronavirus,

1:57.7

but it's exciting to think about where, you know, e-commerce and

2:00.9

especially selling on Amazon is going to be going over the next few months. And possibly we're going

2:06.4

to see some repercussions that might last, even after this whole thing, you know, ends. The other

2:11.2

reason why I don't think it's the figurative end of the world is that, you know, right now,

2:16.2

Amazon and selling on Amazon, selling on websites is one of the

2:19.6

the few things that has not been, you know, hit hard. It's not been hit hard yet. You know, a lot of people
