Questions Covered:

  • 06:37 – I just became Catholic and a Catholic church in my community is having a pride mass and festival. I’m very confused. Does our Church allow this?
  • 15:01 – My friend says they are not Catholic because every apostolic Church claims to be the one true Church. How do I respond?
  • 19:13 – I’m Catholic. Rev 20:4-6 Where are the souls that are sleeping?
  • 25:06 – How do I talk to non-Catholics who say they can’t be Catholic because of how they treated natives?
  • 33:32 – I understand the intercession of saints but a lot of the time the actual prayer sounds like it’s directed to them and not just intercession.
  • 47:45 – Catholics are too obsessed with the physical like, scapulars, and medals. Those things are not in the bible and are traditions of men.
  • 52:42 – I’m Lutheran. The issue for me is Sola Scriptura and when the Church contradicts scripture.

0:20.2

Delighted to be here with you, and we take questions on

0:23.4

the Catholic faith, but today we got a question for you, why aren't you Catholic? And if you're not a

0:28.2

Catholic, we'd love to take your call. 8883187-884. You might have noticed we've been doing

0:33.6

more of these shows where we ask the listener, why aren't you Catholic? For two reasons,

0:38.7

we have found that there are a lot of calls. Well, I'm going to even go with three reasons.

0:43.0

We found that there are a lot of calls when we do this, meaning that people who are not Catholic

0:46.8

want to talk about the Catholic faith. Reason number two is something is happening where there

0:53.2

is a spiritual openness to the Catholic faith that we have

0:56.6

not seen, or at least we didn't perceive five years ago, four years ago, ten years ago.

1:03.5

So we want to be, we want to listen to where the Holy Spirit seems to be moving, and we really

1:09.7

want to talk to non-Catholics.

1:11.7

And the third reason is we think it's just really good.

1:14.5

Like it seems to make very good radio and video content.

1:19.6

So you might say, wow, I'm Catholic, and they keep doing these shows.

1:23.8

You know, it seems like every week they've got one where it's, why aren't you Catholic?

1:27.8

You're correct, and we have reasons for that, and I hope that you will at least, you know,

1:33.6

consider being supportive of those reasons. We think that they are very, very good reasons.

1:47.9

happened this year here at Catholic Answers, in addition to all those other things I just mentioned,

1:52.6

we've been having William on the show a lot, and it's been great for us. William Allrecked.
