| 0:38.0 | I just moved here like a couple of months ago. Do you like it? I love it. I love the warm weather. So the right place. Yeah, for sure. |
| 0:46.0 | So tell us, we'd love to hear about your soccer journey, like about college, about deciding to play professionally and everything like that. |
| 0:53.0 | So start from college recruiting, like what made you decide to go to the University of South Florida? |
| 0:59.0 | Well, in Canada, it's just basically if you want to be on the national team or if you want to go as far as you can with soccer, you're kind of forced to go to the US. |
| 1:09.0 | Just the way the system is, obviously, you don't have a pro league. So at a young age, the players that wanted to be on the national team and wanted to go as far as possible, we knew we had to go to the US. |
| 1:21.0 | And being close with my family, I always thought I'd end up somewhere like Michigan or Syracuse somewhere that's close enough that they could come and drive to games like often. |
| 1:32.0 | And then we actually had a bunch of like youth national team events that college coaches would come and watch. |
| 1:40.0 | And we would get like quite a bit of college coaches from everywhere in the US come and my coaches at USF were there recruiting and I had a bunch of emails from other schools and then I was like, OK, like South Florida. |
| 1:56.0 | I've never really heard of this school, but like I've been to Florida before and I loved it there. |
| 2:02.0 | So I spoke to the head coach and as soon as I had phone conversations with her afterwards, I was like, OK, this is a place that I want to go visit for sure. |
| 2:13.0 | And well, first it was email, but I just, I don't know, I felt like it was the right fit just based on her personality and then it helped that she was from Canada to because just having that little piece of home and knowing like growing up in the Canadian system versus the US system is a little different. |
| 2:31.0 | And she played a little bit on our senior national team, so I went on my visit there and as soon as I got there, I just knew that that's where I wanted to be. |
| 2:40.0 | They were just so welcoming and my coaches Denise and Chris are actually husband and wife, so it was just nice that it was a big like family atmosphere and you know, there are little twins would come to the games and I don't know, it was just a really. |
| 2:54.0 | It was a great feeling when I stepped on campus and just made me make my decision pretty fast, I visited a couple of other ones, but I don't know that one just really was my favorite from there on. |
| 3:07.0 | Funny, sometimes there's like something indescribable that makes you feel connected to a school and you can't really put it into a different reason you got feeling that that was where you were meant to be. |
| 3:18.0 | Yeah, for sure, I don't know and then there were other Canadians on the team as well at this time and they had really positive experiences there, they were about to graduate, so yeah, I took that into consideration as well. |
| 3:32.0 | That's awesome. And during your college career, did you always want to play at the next level and to play pro or was that something that just like came later in your college career? |
