We always focus on a week-long theme,

so you can really master a particular quality in your life.

And our theme this week is all about cultivating the Big five personality traits that contribute to happiness and

wellness. In the previous episodes, you discovered how openness,

being open to change situations and new people and neuroticism.

Having low states of neuroticism, neurotismicism, meaning how you manage stress, how you deal with stress, so being able to manage your stress and your moods,

how those two personality traits contribute to

happiness and wellness. Today I want to share with you the third trait.

It is conscientiousness.

Psychologists determine that people who are high on the conscientiousness continuum spend time preparing.

They finish important tasks right away so they don't procrastinate. They usually enjoy a set

schedule, are very detail-oriented, and that people who are low in this trait don't like structure or schedule so much

and they're not likely to follow through on tasks that they are supposed to do or goals that they set for

themselves. Another characteristic of people who tend not to be so conscientious is a dislike for structure and schedules and they often make messes and don't take care of things.

Well, I want to say that you may have noticed that maybe you do make a mess when you're working on a project

and maybe you don't stick to a schedule.
