Summary

In this episode, Dr. Pillay explains how the neuroscience of possibility enhances ordinary life into living an extraordinary life. A remarkable life as a life of low probability. In other words, it cannot be exceptional if it’s a high probability.

Being exceptional requires being outside the norm, the average, or standard. Thus, if you want an exceptional life, you have to distinguish between possibility and probability.

Let’s throw away these notions of realism or fitting in the standards set by others. Because if you want an ordinary life that’s in the norm, then that’s what you’re sure to get.

Welcome back to the Quotat the Day Show I'm your host Sean Crox and a

0:36.6

Sean Crox and calm we've got my main this man Dr. Serini Palais on the show

0:41.8

today and I call him my main this man because his book Life Unlocked back in

0:49.2

2011 completely changed my life like you and I probably wouldn't know each other

0:53.7

if I didn't read this book and his book taught me

0:57.5

why I was sabotaging myself over and over and over again and it taught me what

1:04.4

was going on in my brain when I was sabotaging myself over and over and over

1:09.6

again it also taught me that where I did have a fear of failure I also had a

1:15.4

deeper fear of success because if you've never experienced the success that

1:22.1

you want that means it's unknown and it's unfamiliar and your brain is wired

1:25.8

for survival so if success is unknown and it's unfamiliar your brain is like no

1:30.3

I don't want that too scary in the book and the protocols within it taught me how

1:37.2

to take a step back and to observe like when I was going through it what's

1:42.4

going on in my brain right now my hippocampus has these memories in it

1:49.4

and these memories maybe about relationships or about money or sales or

1:54.2

marketing or myself have these negative uncomfortable emotions that are

1:58.8

stamped on to them and then when I unconsciously pull up these memories and

2:02.4

the hippocampus then the amygdala fires up and I start to feel anxiety and

2:06.8

fear and then my conflict detector fires up because I want money maybe but I kind

of don't like money because of some stuff I learned a long time ago I want to be
