Welcome back to the podcast. My name is Joseph Clough, and this is episode 1,217. And in today's Power Talk,

I think it's a really important subject to go into. You see, we're more connected than ever,

but I feel, and the evidence in statistics is there, there's more loneliness than ever.

So the more we're getting connected with social media, with their news and all those things, we tend to be losing more human connection.

And that can obviously be a very unhealthy thing, where we feel

lost, where we feel like alone, of course, the loneliness epidemic. So I thought it would be a good

idea to get into that today. Now, for me personally, I'm very good with being alone. Like, I don't have to speak to

people probably for like a week or two before I start to go a little bit. Funny. And simply

because I've been that way for a very, very, very long time, like 24 years pretty much

working for myself. Obviously, I had clients and things, but like with my clients talking to them.

But more often than not, I've very much been an alone kind of person.

But I also know that it can be a very, very stressful place.

It can be a place where it can be really, really hard for many, many people.

So let's go ahead and break it down what it is for science and what we need to do to get out of it.

And there's going to be one important point which for me, makes the difference as a solution but we've got to think

about where we start to get disconnected where we start to kind of pull away from people or even our

own inner dialogue tends to like doubts us like who are we am i enough am i worthy

was it about me should i be able to go and talk to these people maybe i'm just better off alone maybe

you kind of internalize it that it's about you right you kind You kind of go, well, they will not like to be

around me, which creates a bigger distance, right? And that then creates either a mask or a withdrawal.

And the mask is ultimately, you can be around people that you like or love, but you don't feel

comfortable. You still feel alone. And you have to put a mask on in order to try to convey a
