Hey everybody.

Welcome to this week's edition of the Deer Hunter podcast.

It is currently Tuesday, the 30th of April.

About to turn the calendar to May tomorrow.

Thank God. Springtime is in full swing. I am, my turkey season

starts the sixth. I take the late season, 6th to the 31st. I've been out looking for some birds.

I definitely know where there are some, and I am going after them with the

compound this year. I have a ground blind set up, just a natural ground blind set up in a

location. I have a pop-up blind set up in a location and I also have multiple tree stands that I can use with

my archery equipment. I found that out just recently that you can bow hunt from a tree stand

in Michigan for turkeys. Not gun hunt, but you can bow hunt. And if I see that to be an advantage,

I will do so, but I'm pretty confident

in my little natural ground-blind approach. I had a pretty close encounter last year or the

year prior with my recurve. And Turkey just at the last minute kind of turned and walked exactly the wrong way that I needed him to, whether that was my fault for moving a little bit and he picked me up or it just worked out that way.

But if I had had my compound, I'm pretty confident I probably could have shot him, but he was out of my range for my traditional bow

and you know over the last couple years I haven't been real hell bent on getting a bird

but for some reason this year I really want to and I'm going to at least try to get out you know

hopefully a couple times.

But it's tough for me to set any time aside right now with how busy things are in the spring.
