Good Day Citizens and welcome to this special podcast edition of the Thomas Jefferson Hour as promised the second of two shows Mr Jenkinson recorded in Fargo North Dakota on September 11th, 2016 at the Fargo Theater hosted by Prairie Public

Radio and their wonderful guy there, Mr. Bill Thomas. He's just this delightful man

I've admired him for a long time.

Me too.

And I've always wanted to work with him. And he called me about seven or eight months ago and

said, would I be willing to do a fundraiser for the Unitarian Universalist

Church in Fargo and I'm kind of a Unitarian myself.

Well, on principle. Jefferson certainly was a Unitarian. kind of a unitarian myself.

Jefferson certainly was a unitarian and so and I often give talks at the

Unitarian church here in Bismarck, North Dakota would love to do them all over the

country in fact but at any rate so we set it up and North Dakota

Humanities Council was one of the the funding agents and Prairie Public Radio was

also a participant in a sponsor and so we gathered a group of about 150 people into this lovely historic theater in downtown Fargo, North Dakota and did these programs.

And it is just such fun to take the Thomas Jefferson hour on the road but the number one

you know what's coming the number one question I always get when I go on the

road is who is this Swenson and why does he not travel with you and I always say because you told me to say

this he's kind of a home body.

Well I you know I've been really busy lately and not to get off on a long long conversation but there's a lot going on in our little town.

You've been gathered into this extraordinary moment in which an encampment on and near the Standing Rock Indian Reservation is addressing problems of

tribal sovereignty and oil development and consultation and respect.

We're recording this on what is it September 13th we've pre-recorded these two

shows because of schedules I'm in Montana and you're off everywhere who knows
