Hello from CNN. I'm Chris de Beau with the five things you need to know for Tuesday, October 10th.

It's the fourth day of fighting between Israel and Hamas, since the Islamist militant group carried out one of the deadliest terror attacks in Israel's history.

And today Hamas launched a huge barrage of rockets from Gaza after issuing a warning to

residence to leave the southern coastal city of Ashgalon,

as Israel amasses tanks near the enclave's border and ramps up their own

airstrike attacks. The death tolls on both sides continue to rise.

With the Israeli embassy in the US reporting over 1,000 Israeli deaths by Hamas,

and 830 Palestinians have been killed in the conflict as well.

We're also learning more about how Saturday's surprise attack was reportedly planned.

Citing unnamed sources, Reuters is reporting that Hamas misled Israel by suggesting it preferred economic incentives and work permits for Gaza citizens over confrontation.

A source close to Hamas told Reuters the terror group constructed a mock Israeli settlement in Gaza for military training exercises,

claiming many Hamas leaders were unaware of the plans.

CNN has not independently verified the report,

and an Israeli military spokesperson said they weren't aware of the mock settlement.
