September 30th. The death toll from Hurricane Helene has risen to at least 115

across six states,

but officials warned that number could continue to rise.

The most recent deaths include five in Henderson County,

along with a sheriff's deputy in Macon County, who was swept

away by the storm.

North Carolina has the most fatalities, with 42 people confirmed dead.

Two million businesses and homes in four southeastern states still

have no power, like this woman's in Asheville, North Carolina. We haven't had any since

Friday morning. We had running water, but we can't drink it. And now the pressure is so

low that there's no water coming out anymore, really.

Presidential candidates, Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump

are expected to receive updates on recovery efforts today.

A White House official says Harris has ended her West Coast campaign swing early to travel to Washington for briefings at FEMA

headquarters.

Israel is continuing to step up its strikes inside Lebanon.

Air strikes have hit inside Beirut City limits for the first time since October 7th

and two sources tell CNN Israeli Special Forces have carried out small

raids into Lebanese territory in recent days. The Israeli military declined to comment.

The targeted raids are the latest indication Israel is laying the groundwork for a potential

ground incursion into Lebanon.
