Pennsylvania residents can sleep a little easier now.

Authorities have captured Denello Cavalcante, the convicted murderer who

escaped from prison about two weeks ago.

They were able to move in very quietly. They had the element of surprise.

Lieutenant Colonel George Bivens said tactical teams tracked a heat signal and found him lying down.

Cavalcante did not realize he was surrounded until that had occurred.

That did not stop him from trying to escape.

One of the Customs and Border Control teams, Bortac,

had a dog with them.

They released the dog.

The dog subdued him.

He continued to resist what was forcibly taken into custody?

Bivens said Cabalcante got a minor bite wound from the confrontation.

Authorities say the capture took about five minutes, in a wooded area within the established perimeter.

He was found with a rifle that police believe he stole from a home, but he did not have

the opportunity to use it.

He'll be sent to a state correctional facility and eventually arraigned on a felony escape

charge.

Officials say Cavalcante's sister is in the process of being deported,

after she tried to help the inmate, who a U.S.

official said entered the U.S. illegally.
