The International Criminal Court is seeking arrest warrants for top Hamas and Israeli officials,

accusing them of war crimes and crimes against humanity.

That includes Hamas leader Yaya Simwa and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The Hamas officials charges include extermination, murder, taking of hostages, and rape and sexual assault in detention.

While Israeli officials are accused of causing extermination, causing starvation as a method of

war, and deliberately targeting civilians. The ICC's chief prosecutor

Karim Khan spoke to CNN's Christian Armandpur in an exclusive interview.

Nobody is above the law, no people b doing to birth or passport, religion, nationality or the color of their skin,

have a get out of jail free card, have a free pass to say, well, the law doesn't apply to us.

This is the first time that the ICC has targeted the top leader of a close ally of the US.

Netagnahu described the decision as a quote, outrage, and Hamas has denounced the request.

A panel of the court's judges will now consider the application.

If they grant it, it means any countries under ICC jurisdiction

will have to arrest the men if they step on their soil.
