Many are starting this weekend as confrontations over the war in Gaza have been escalating,

with police entering some campuses to make mass arrests of pro-Palestinian protesters and rip apart encampments.

The Biden administration sent a letter to colleges across a country condemning, quote, abhorrent incidents of anti-Semitism.

But speaking to CNN's Christiane Ammanpour, Senator Bernie Sanders, says it's important

for Biden and others to understand why the protests are happening.

they are out there because they are outraged

by what the Israeli government is now doing in Gaza, which is bringing unbelievable

Job growth in the US was lower than expected last month with just 175,000 positions added in April.

The data out today comes as the Federal Reserve has been looking to cool demand to rein in high

inflation.

Investors were watching for any sign of a slowdown, which would be a catalyst for the Central Bank to consider a rate cut sooner rather than later.

Markets currently expect the first cut to come in September or later in the year.
