Tropical Storm Idalia is strengthening quickly in the warm waters of the Gulf and headed toward

Florida's West Coast where it could become a category 3 hurricane by Wednesday.

The National Hurricane Center currently has hurricane and storm surge watches in effect for

parts of Florida's Gulf Coast.

This is going to be a major impact, so please prepare accordingly.

That was Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who gave an update to Floridians this morning after declaring

a state of emergency.

Keep in mind, if you're told to to evacuate you do not need to drive hundreds of miles

you do not need to leave the state of Florida you basically need to go to higher

ground the White House said President Joe Biden pledged his full support

for the state after a call with the governor and FEMA has been fully activated.
