One of Israel's top military commander says his country is strengthening its capabilities at the Lebanon border

as fighting there is stepping up.

We have entered a new phase of the campaign and we're now in Operation Northern Arrows. Two Israeli reserve brigades have been called up for operational missions in the area,

and Israel's defense minister has hinted at the possibility of a ground incursion.

This comes as Israel says a Hezbollah missile was intercepted

near Tel Aviv this morning, the first ever fired by the militant group to reach

close to the city. Here's how National Security spokesman John Kirby reacted to the news on

CNN this morning. Well it's certainly deeply concerning obviously to the Israelis

of course but also to us because as Secretary Blinken just said a little bit ago

we really have been working hard since the

beginning of this conflict to prevent it from escalating and deepening and broadening.
