to know for Tuesday, December 10th. Syria has a new caretaker prime minister.

CNN's Paula Hancock has more on Mohammed al-Bashir, and what's expected from him.

He was the prime minister of the Salvation government.

So this was the rebel-led government, if you like.

It was based up in a northwest in Idlib. It was affiliated with

HTS, the main rebel group. He hasn't specified any policies at this point. He has said that what

he will do is he will be a transition prime minister for three months. And they will be working

with some of the ministers of the outgoing Assad regime as well to try and

create this smooth transition.

It comes after rebel groups forced the former president to resign and flee, ending more than

50 years of a brutal regime and 14 years of civil war.
