And we begin with schools and roads feeling a bit emptier today as some families get a jumpstart on their winter vacations.

The TSA or Transportation Security Administration is anticipating a record 46 million

flyers passing through its airport checkpoints during the holiday travel period.

That's an average of 2.5 million people per day between now and January 6.

After experiencing its busiest Thanksgiving Travel Week ever,

the TSA is offering some helpful reminders for passengers to lessen the stress.

Get to the airport extra early, don't overpack your carry-ons,

and most of all come with a lot of patience.

While the airports may seem crowded, the country isn't.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the population of the United States grew at its lowest

rate since 1937. Part of the reason, moms and dads aren't having nearly as many babies

as they used to. Also in the report, a changing geography. Where we're choosing to

live continues to shift west and south. Nevada, Idaho, Utah, Arizona, and Florida

saw the biggest increases in population,

while nine states, including New York, Illinois, Connecticut, and Wyoming, saw decreases.

money and valuables. A half million dollars in cold hard cash spilled out when a

passenger door blew open during the morning rush hour last week.

Dozens of drivers screeched to a halt, some causing accidents as they raced each other to scoop up

the money.

Some good Samaritans recovered and returned the loot while others left the scene with a fatter
